How to have an attitude of gratitude…
‘Gratitude is a way of BEING, not doing’ – Joanne Mayhead
Take a moment and think back over your life so far. Without even knowing it, most of us have had an attitude of gratitude throughout our lives, even on a subconscious level. Our evidence is simple, it is all the amazing people, situations and experiences we have attracted into our lives already, much of it without any conscious effort at all.
Even some of our Story ‘contrast’ through the things we don’t want in life is a result of our subconscious gratitude and appreciation and has been a way of moving us away from things that aren’t serving us any more towards something better…..
….. and the biggest challenge once we start to become aware of the law of attraction and become a conscious creator is simply that we start trying too hard to do it right.
We start to learn how important gratitude is for attracting what we want in life and all of a sudden, we forget how ‘up to this point’ this has come to us naturally and we end up turning it into a bigger deal than it needs to be.
We start to get anxious about whether or not we are doing the gratitude thing right. We start to get paranoid about positive thoughts vs negative thoughts and beating up on ourselves for not having this attitude of gratitude every waking moment…
…and I am here to tell you this…
You really don’t need to try so hard.
You do have access to gratitude every waking moment – naturally.
Wellbeing is your natural state and if you simply focus on feeling good as much as possible, you automatically allow gratitude to BE.
Those rockets of desire are shooting off every time you feel good….
The examples are endless…
Noticing something about a loved one, savouring your morning coffee, loving the sound of a child’s giggle, enjoying a good meal, laughing with friends, stopping to appreciate your surroundings, loving a sunny day, giving someone a hug, boosting your energy through movement, enjoying a cosy night in, snuggling under your duvet….
…and a million more examples that are as unique as we are…
Because gratitude is a way of BEING, not doing
As soon as we think of gratitude as something we ‘have to’ do every day, it can quickly become a chore or raise resistance within us which ends up being pretty counterproductive.
This is why we simply need to allow gratitude to BE, remembering that is naturally ours, always was, always will be.
No effort required.
Just that decision to do and appreciate whatever feels good in this moment.
Enjoy!
